2003-04 Strat-o-Matic Divisional All-Stars, Matchday 1

I have finished the first two games of my 2003-04 Divisional All-Stars NBA Strat-o-Matic tournament.  Here are the scores, winning team first, with scores separated by quarter and then totaled.  The MVP of each game is the player on the winning team who had the highest Adj48 (the stat off of which Wins Produced is finalized) in a significant amount of play time.  They are:

Pacific 36-24-35-32-127, Atlantic 25-25-37-33-120

MVP: SG Brent Barry- 6-8 FGA (3-4 3PT), 3-3 FTA, 6 AST, REB, PF, TO, 18 PTS in 20 MIN

This game was very close throughout, although it was the Pacific that usually had the lead.  Even though it was 60-50 at half-time, the Atlantic Division went on a 10-0 run to start the second half.  Although Tracy McGrady and Jason Kidd played magnificently, they ultimately fell short.  The MVP award could also have gone to Erick Dampier or Gary Payton, whose Adj48 scores were almost as high.  If I had used the expert time-out rules, the game would have been different, but I think that the outcome would have remained the same.

Midwest 39-29-24-27-119, Central 23-22-18-20-83

MVP: PF Kevin Garnett- 10-10 FGA 2-2 FTA, 8 REB (1 OFF), 22 PTS in 25 MIN

In contrast to the game before it, this game was a whitewash almost from the opening tip-off.  The Midwest Division utterly dominated the Central.  I am seriously disappointed that this game was so lopsided, and I am afraid that the Central Division will lose all its games by a similar margin, as only Carlos Boozer played particularly well.  It might have been ever worse if Tim Duncan had not had an abysmal shooting night, going 3-11 from the field, but James Posey, Cuttino Mobley, and Garnett more than compensated.

Now, I will post the box scores for each team.  Instead of separating them by game, I am going to sort them in alphabetical order by team, with the players also sorted in alphabetical order.  I am doing this so that it is easier for me to go back and total up individual players’ statistics.  Players whose names are bolded were starters.  I have hidden all of the Wins Produced adjustors, leaving only the players’ names, positions, stats, and Adj48, but at the end of the tournament I will post a link to the file which holds all this data.  I understand that minutes played will not add up to 240 every time because I am recording minutes by hand and may be prone to error.  I also apologize that the Adj48 column is somewhat cut off; this is not the first time I have had trouble exporting data from Excel into WordPress.  Thank you for reading, and please comment.  Here are the box scores:
